{"id":4134,"date":"2026-01-10T13:36:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-10T08:06:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kolhapur.wordcamp.org\/2026\/?p=4134"},"modified":"2026-01-12T13:10:02","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T07:40:02","slug":"workshop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kolhapur.wordcamp.org\/2026\/workshop\/","title":{"rendered":"Empowering Students to Build E-commerce Websites with WordPress"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After the <strong>grand success of WordCamp Kolhapur 2025<\/strong>, the WordPress Kolhapur community continued its mission of student-focused learning by organizing <strong>WordPress Campus Connect Kolhapur 2025<\/strong> between <strong>September and October 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of this initiative, <strong>basic WordPress workshops were conducted for more than 420+ students<\/strong>, helping them understand the fundamentals of WordPress and open source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking this vision forward, and building on the strong response from students, the organizing team is now planning a <strong>dedicated student workshop focused on building e-commerce websites with WordPress<\/strong>, as part of <strong>WordCamp Kolhapur 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About the Student Workshop<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This student workshop is scheduled for <strong>31st January 2026<\/strong> and will be a <strong>4 to 6 hour hands-on session<\/strong>, designed to help students move beyond basics and understand how WordPress is used to build <strong>real-world, client-ready e-commerce websites<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The goal of this workshop is simple:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Introduce students to <strong>open source and WordPress<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help them <strong>build e-commerce websites practically<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Show how WordPress skills can be used to <strong>help real clients and businesses<\/strong><strong><br><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why an E-commerce Workshop?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>E-commerce is one of the most practical and in-demand use cases of WordPress today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this workshop, students will learn how WordPress:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Powers business and online stores worldwide<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enables individuals to build scalable solutions using open-source tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can be used as a skill for freelancing, internships, and professional work<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop is designed to connect <strong>learning with real-world application<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What the Workshop Will Cover<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The session is divided into <strong>two core parts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>1. Open Source &amp; WordPress Fundamentals<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will be introduced to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The concept of open source and why it matters<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How WordPress works and why it is community-driven<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How WordPress has become a trusted platform for websites and e-commerce<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This section helps students understand the <em>why<\/em> behind WordPress, not just the <em>how<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2.
